Description
This program was loosely pined together without any type of binding and the pin has been removed. This is a very rare program that i believe was available daily for those allowed in the court room as indicated by the handwritten note on the bottom from the guard: “Session Friday, Jan. 25, 1946”. It could also have been printed for the local troops as a brief summary of the day, but that does not explain the handwritten note and the fact that the contents are just an overview of the defendants and the courtroom map. I do not believe many of these survived.
This is directly from the family of John Oliverio who was in the 26th. He was assigned to guard the homes of Judges Biddle & Parker and General Erwin Lahausen while in captivity. His family says at wars end he did not have enough points to get back home so he was reassigned to be a guard at the Nürnburg trials. This regiment was in the First Infantry division (the big red 1).
