SMGB-122 WW2 Mk.III Enfield Bayonet. *SOLD

Out of stock

Indian sword bayonet manufactured for the No. I Mk. III Lee Enfield Bayonet. The blade on this bayonet is just exceptional, super clean, and still retains its original bluing. The ricasso is stamped NWR 43 ( which indicates that this bayonet was manufactured in the workshops of India’s North Western Railways). During WW2, many of railways shops were converted to produce war materials, and this bayonet is a testimony of their work. The wood grips still have their original dark brown stain, show no wear, and are devoid of chips, dings or dents that commonly tend to happen to wood grips through the years. The leather scabbard is in great condition and is fitted with a metal tip which is stamped 92 at the bottom. The bottom of metal throat bears another stamping of 43216, and reversed its stamped b. 41. Even the leather sheath bears the stamp 6141BA and what appears to be VA68 and dated 1942. The leather frog is in superb condition, but associated, as i dont believe its original to this bayonet. None the less, If you are looking for a super clean bayonet with much history, here is one beauty that’s complete and doesn’t disappoint.
