SMGH-03 German WW2 Kriegsmarine Battleship helmet M-35 Named. SOLD

Out of stock

*REDUCED* Super rare, super clean, and?a real stunner! Original Kriegsmarine M-35 with original wartime battleship grey paint on outer shell, rear skirt and inner dome?hand applied with a brush. The exterior shell is?very clean and displays nicely without any?dings?or dents. Yes, you can see the outlines of the decals and where they were painted over on this helmet. Some minor rust around bottom of left outside skirt on exterior of paint which is common and original. The original liner has seen some wear, but otherwise supple and devoid of any rips or tears, and comes complete?with the original drawstring?in fantastic shape.?Also original to the helmet is the?dark brown chinstrap which is?resilient and flexible. I will state that the chinstrap has two small minor tears, and the end portion which is inserted to buckle is missing.?This appears to have been cut or trimmed long ago. The inside rear skirt bears the name ”KORFMACHER” in big white painted letters,?with the original grey camo?painted around the name inside?the helmet. Inside rear skirt where name is written is stamped?478?.?The left interior manufacturer code bears the marking SE64, which indicates the manufacturer as Sashsische Emaillerwerk, Lauter.?Considering that they were used?by navy personnel on vessels during combat, most?examples of these?helmets didnt survive, as?they went down with their vessels. These are considered to be even?rarer than?SS helmets by headgear collectors. They dont come any cleaner than this one. In my lifetime?I have only seen one other surviving example, which was in a museum.?Priced fairly for a very desirable and sought after navy battleship helmet?in fantastic condition.
