SMGH-042 German WW2 M-42 Helmet *SOLD

Out of stock

Heer M-42 helmet in dark olive green, and of late war manufacturer. The outside shell has a nice rough dark olive green late war textured finish, with a small touch of outer surface paint rust in the rear. That being said, the exterior color is pretty sharp and attractive. The leather liner is a bit brittle and is showing its age, but is in one piece, and devoid of any separation in the fingers. The tongues are getting a bit frayed, and leather cracking is present. There is a small 3/4 inch tear in the front of the leather liner, exposing the wool that wraps around the interior liner band. The liner does not retain its original drawstring, as an old shoe lace filled its place. In the rear of the skirt is stamped “KL 66”, and beneath that reads the number “4307”. Liner size is extremely difficult to read, but after carefully examining it, looks like a size 58. The chinstrap is questionable, as the leather is still supple and seems to be a replacement. I also don’t believe its homogeneous to this helmet. Stamped on the end of the chinstrap is the manufacturers name “KRIKOWA” and beneath that is “WEIN 62+1942”. A decent and complete late war M42 helmet, complete with liner, chinstrap, and original paint. Priced to move.
