Italian WW2 Combat helmet with front plate attachment for Spanish Civil War.. In 1933, Mussolini thought his troops needed smarter uniforms and headgear, so he introduced this style in 1933, which became standard. Shell is painted inside and out an?almost olive drab, with?usual wear,?and dent free.?Leather liner is in great condition,?still pliable and supple, complete with original drawstring. The leather chinstrap is brittle and looks like it has?been repaired in upper left hand corner near chinstrap ring. Someone during this helmets?lifetime had painted in white the letters P.M. on inside dome. Helmet is named to?V. D’Amara which is written on inside of liner.?Size 56.
