SMGH-118 U.S. WW1 M1918 Overseas cap

Out of stock

*REDUCED* This side cap replaced the “Montana” campaign hat of 1917. This model became popular with the doughboys, and it soon became the standard issue due to easy storage when helmet was worn. Super clean Model 1918 overseas cap, olive drab in color, and constructed of heavy wool. White cotton sweatband has yellowed due to age, which can be expected. Stamping on band reads 176, and underneath that W o with an arrow above, and D. The only thing keeping this cap from grading mint is a tiny little moth hole on the outer right side above fold, which is difficult to see. Still a great cap.
