SMGL-2321 Iron Cross First Class

A nice cross, but it looks like someone attempted to used it as a screw driver! Interesting marks on the side. I thought perhaps it was an attempted to keep the frame from separating, but I see no evidence of separation. Looking closer you can see that it was likely used in a counter clockwise fashion to unscrew something. It must have been done in the field at a time there were no tools to do the job properly…if it could only talk!
