Extremely attractive and heavy medal, this was awarded to British Service personnel taking part in the Independence ceremonies, and issued somewhere around 1950. On the front reads in Latin “GEORGIUS VI DG BR OMN REX” Literally translated “George 6th, our king”. Reverse has Pakistani flag with Arabic. Ribbon and medal in superb condition. Engraved around the rim are the numbers and letters “3539598 RFN FAIZTALAB KHAN 13 FF RIF”. Neat item.
