SMGM-3668 German Shooting Award C.1934 Solid silver

A rare shooting award.

A circular medal constructed of silver, the obverse bears a centrally located rifle, above is a mobile swastika on a circular field, below is a target, to the right is a branch of laurel, circumscribed with “FÜRS VATERLAND ÜB AUG UND HAND” (FOR FATHER’S OWN BY EYE AND HAND), the reverse bears an open-ended laurel wreath with a central inscription reading “II Ritter 1934” (2 Knight 1934), marked on the edge by the integral loop “ 900” Partial remnants of “Ges.Gesch” are visible, but for some reason the suspension jump loop was soldered in the same spot as the marking.
