SMGN-0123 First Model Luftwaffe Dagger No Maker

This dagger unfortunately suffers from bad leather damage on the scabbard. The remaining leather is just barely held on by the center suspension fitting. The chain is the nickel style and has been modified at some point by the owner as we can see by the first welded links.  The blade is a very nice plated example with no markings. There are a few small chips to the edge from some knuckle head playing games with it, but it’s not too bad. The scabbard fittings are all steel. The dagger fittings are pot metal with a heavy silver plate. The guard and pommel are in pretty good shape, they just show heavy patina to the finish. The grip leather is in much better shape than the scabbard with just a wear mark on the one side. The grip wire is a little loose and would benefit from some TLC. Overall, if you are looking for a price conscious dagger that still displays pretty well, this is for you. Or perhaps you have the means to restore the leather.
