Description

This transitional some with a really nice early type anodized scabbard. I think a painted scabbard would be more appropriate for it but i guess anodized is possible too. Either way, it’s nice with a fantastic amount of anodizing that’s hard to find. A slightly out of round ball end but nothing distracting. The screws are unturned. A bit of green verdigris on the top scabbard mount which tells me this was likely in a vertical hanger at some point. The blade is a desiderable double proofed version with a small nick on one edge. The blade shows evidence of light oxidation near the third of the blade near the tip. To the credit of any previous owners, this light oxidation has not been polished out, allowing us to see all the original cross graining without it being polished away to get rid of the oxidation. The double logo is crips and looks great. The grip to guard fitment is superb and the solid nickel guards are unmarked as they should be on a transitional. The guards are also uncleaned adding to the nice, antiqued look and assurance that it hasn’t been messed with. A great opportunity to pick up a desirable dagger.
