Description
This is a nice navy dagger with the detail you would expect from a Weyersberg piece. The scabbard is in fantastic shape, showing only a very small ding on one side. There is a missing through screw. The pommel eagle looks great and is finger tight. The celluloid over wood grip does have a crack and a grip wire repair. The crack though visible, doesn’t create and issue with the celluloid being loose. You can see on the grip wire, the previous owner must have used some polishing compound on the brass. The residue will come off with some attention, just be careful not to soak the grip in anything because the wood will swell and cause more damage. The cross guard is in great shape with a 100% functional scabbard release. The highlight of the dagger is the beautiful blade. The maker mark is nice and clear on the ricasso and the etched panels are just stunning. You really need to see it in your hand to appreciate it. The blade rates near mint, being very hard to upgrade.
