SMGP-358 Springfield Armory 1908 WW1 US Bayonet *SOLD

Out of stock

This bayonet has a 15 and 3/4 inch blade with a slightly dull tip. There is no doubt this was an issued in field working bayonet. The blade condition is fantastic with some small nicks to the edge, but no oxidation and still has the factory darkening in the blood grooves! The hard wood grips show appropriate wear but are still holing strong with no sign of breaking. there is some light superficial oxidation on the cross guard and butt, with similar oxidation on the scabbard throat. The scabbard does have a split at the very end, but does not appear to be worsening and should hold up fine for years to come. The thumb lock works great and locks nicely.
