Description
An interesting book that has two sets of handwriting. The first says “Lieb Irngard- We’ll always have Berlin…and Paris… and tomorrow the world! XOXO Addy.” The Second says “Bought this in Raeren, Belgium 5 March, 1945 Property of 1st Lt. Herman Scott 0-1297828”
Needless to say, there might be some interesting research potential here.
The book is nearly mint inside with wear to the cover and a bit of spin separation.
In 1935, Eher Verlag approached Hitler with the idea that all newlyweds in Germany should receive a presentation copy of Mein Kampf, in lieu of other gifts such as a bible. Each “Wedding Volume” would contain a tipped-in presentation page from the mayor of each municipality, with each municipality purchasing their copies and the royalties going to the author. The first edition of the Wedding Edition [Hochzeitsausgabe] was published in 1936. Many copies survived the Allied prohibition due to their wedding day significance.
