SMGO-0856 Hitler Youth Leader Dagger by Eickhorn

A rare opportunity to pick up a lesser seen Eickhorn. The more common maker of these was Horster. This dagger has a beautiful black Moroccan leather with a fine pebbled surface and no rips or worn spots in the leather. There is some small indentations but nothing serious or distracting. The aluminum tip shows some wear and here are some slight signs of plate lifting to the finish. The middle and upper mounts are in great shape with no major issues. The Eickhorn style eagle is clear and prominent. The aluminum cross guard and grip ferrule both show some wear to the edges, but it is similar to the scabbard wear and not off putting at all. The grip wrap is remarkably tight still with no signs of any repairs or potential issues going forward. There is a dark spot which might be grease. I do not try to clean it but it might be possible with care and a fine nylon or horsehair brush. The pommel cap has the rear single rivet which i like better than the two on the sides. Hear too, there is wear through the bonze finish layer down to the aluminum but again, it matches the rest of the dagger nicely. The blade on this has the RZM logo and Eickhorn code of M7/66. The blade shows some haziness but there is no oxidation and no dings, dents or large scratches. Not a perfect blade but still attractive and about 8.5 out of 10 for me. A really nice dagger overall and sure to be a highlight in your collection!
