“This enamel pin was for the Reichsbund der Kinderreichen (RDK), National League of Large Families. This was an organization that predated the NS Machtergreifung, but became an important tool of the regime. The aging body of the nation was of major concern to the government and party. This organization was important in emphasizing the crucial role of the family to the nation. The prominence of families with only one or two children and the sponsorship and protection of the Kinderreich family were issues of great concern in the years preceding the NS Machtergreifung (seizure of power).”

This pin is in near mint condition with 99% of its silvering still present and no enamel damage. Some glare on the right side is not damage.
