SMGP-1047 Army Panther Head Sword by Puma *SOLD

These Puma’s are a nice diversion from your typical officers sword being that they are made from aluminum. This base metal was an excellent choice for gilding as the finish always holds up well. This one is no different with nearly 100% finish intact. The only sore spot on this is a wear mark on the head. This would be from the original wearer I believe, as it is as the proper side and height to have been rubbing up against a buckle or other device. The hand detail of these pumas is very nice and vary from sword to sword. The blade measures 33″ and is in good condition but does have a few small oxidation areas popping through the chrome finish. Interesting thing about this blade is that the prep finishing before chroming was either done in haste or skipped completely, judging from the grind marks still present all over the blade but clearly with a layer of chrome on top. The scabbard shows a good amount of oxidation and has a slight bend to it, making the sword a very tight fit. I would recommend picking up a better scabbard if the opportunity ever arouse. I think you will find that despite the few flaws, this sword is nicely priced compared to some other dealers.
