SMGP-1337 Marine Proofed Kreigs Flag w/ repair 200x335cm *SOLD

This flag would have been used on ships 1500 to 10K tons, Destroyer 3Kt & Cruiser 8Kt. What an awesome flag I have for sale here! The first thing you notice right away is the black reinforcement on the end. I almost passed this flag up until I took a closer look and got it in my hands! Wow! The repairs are absolutely period, likely done right on a ship or barracks. It looks like the corners were torn and there must have been a rip down the center as well. All the newer repairs are done with period correct materials, likely whatever they had available. You can see a small amount of battle ship grey paint that got spilled on it too! Ha ha, the story that this flag must have! Imagine it’s been repaired, and sitting in storage on the ship somewhere, waiting as a back up flag, and some sailor comes in and plops a can of paint down next to it with a wet brush and drops some paint on it! Nice story, is it what really happened?!?! who knows!? So on top of all that cool stuff we have MORE! It’s clearly KM marked with the national bird over the M and its original size markings are present, but faded. To sweeten the deal wie have the maker tag in plain sight which reads “Wurttembergishe Cattunmanufactur Heidenheim a. Brz.” Now one last bonus, the fly loop at he end has easy to see wear marks on it from being flown! This flag SAW SOME ACTION! There is no doubt in my mind! You want a flag with a story!?!?!
