Description
Although this is a common maker, the more natural stained light wood grip is a real treat and I don’t expect this dagger to last long. All the fittings are early nickel as we expect. The lower guard be marked area code “Wm” which F. Dick was contracted to supply daggers for. The grip fit is excellent and no signs of the pommel nut ever being taken off with a wrench. The nut is hand tight and can be taken off easily for component inspection if desired. The wood grip is a stellar light brown stained ash with gorgeous grain pattern. The scabbard is in good shape with no major dents but does have some finish loss to the anodized shell. The ball end isn’t perfect, as it has been dropped at some point, but it’s not totally smashed either. It looks pretty good overall. The blade is about an 8.5 out of 10 with gorgeous cross graining present and relatively minor oxidation. If you like your SA daggers to stand out from the crowd, this is an easy choice.
