SMGL-2153 2nd Model Luftwaffe dagger by Clemen & Jung *SOLD

This is a typical late war example with a wood filled celluloid grip. The blade has some significant scratches and dings to the edges, as it looks like some kids or GI’s blade “swords” with it. The grip shows no cracks but the wire wrap is short on one side from breaking off under the pommel. The previous owner I assume elected to just skip a top wire and place it back under the pommel. I would recommend a new wire if you can find this particular style. The scabbard is in excellent shape with nearly all of the original airplane grey finish present. There is some minor oxidation and a few small dents. The lead weight is loose and you can hear it slide back and forth. I would recommend a new leather bumper for this dagger, as the current one is doing no service for the dagger. A new bumper would allow for a better scabbard to cross guard fit. All in all, its an honest dagger with some issues, but the price is attractive if you are looking to keep some dough in your wallet and still build a collection of originals.
