Description

This F.O. is PKZ # marked 15 on the pin and it’s easily legible. These frames are usually easy to spot due to a little material “dot” that is normally at the top of the frame near 12:00. In this instance, the frame was inverted during assembly and the dot is at the lower 6:00 position. It is not known why frames were usually aligned the same way, but it is known that try as they may to get them all the same, sometimes the assembly process cranked out frames in different positions. This technically speaking has no relevance to the assembly process or general aesthetics. The cross is in fantastic shape, having a nearly perfect painted iron (magnetic) core with just a bit of spidering. The frame is nice but shows some age with a bit of verdigris forming since the frame on this is a none ferrous alloy with some copper content. The case is also above average that grades and 8 out of 10 in my book. The catch is functioning as it should. The felt insert easily pops out to reveal the case maker logo of D&B on both the insert and case. A fantastic cross to add to your collection.
