The medal with a half dozen names! Also known as the Frozen Meat Medal.

When found marked,  the manufactures PK number will be found on the ribbon loop. Since there are so many makers, there is in depth study available pertaining to die characteristics which can help identify the manufacture of unmarked examples. I recommend Sacha Weber’s book “The Medal for the Winter War in the East 1941/42” for this detailed exploration. There are known makers for the “missing” makers listed here, but to date there is no evidence that they made OST medals.
