Description
Here we have a mint conditioned purple heart numbered 361622 Which falls into the Rex Products WW2 contract. The ribbon bar and lapel pin are also in great condition. The case shows some considerable wear but i suppose this could be changed out if desired. The icing on the cake is that we have the award extract dated December 12th 1944 awarding it to Strang. It says it was for wounds received in action on Dec 7th 1944. It is signed by a First Lt. There is also a war dept Allowance and allotment card to the same man and it’s dated 1942. Strang did not pop up in any of the data bases i checked, but as we know most of the available records were lost in a fire a long time ago in the archives building. So, this might be a good research project and something to contribute to the current purple heart date base archives. This award came directly from the family but unfortunately, they did not know much about him or the nature of his wound.
