SMGN-0768 Police Bayonet by WKC matching numbers

A nice example of a bayonet cut down to 13inches which was pretty standard. The nickeled blade is in excellent condition with light wear and residual effects of polishing out the reshaped blade. Interesting to see that this bayonet was reissued with the guard having the original number ground od cleanly and then “122” stamped into it. The scabbard shows SB 1972 “X’d” out and then 122 stamped below it. Not something you see often. The hilt is in good lightly worn condition and the same can be said of the grip plates and eagle. The scabbard and fittings all show the same gentle wear marks. Very nice overall. The frog is in good used condition with no major cracks or damage. The portepee or Troddle is in well worn and tired condition.
