Description
This dagger has all the early features you would expect and in excellent shape overall. The blade has a slight edge put on each side and shows some evidence of some light oxidation at some point near the tip. There is still lots of cross grain visible, ensuring that this dagger has never been abrasively cleaned. The scabbard is dent free and shows most of the anodize finish and lacquer intact, although there is evident wear. The lower fitting is missing a screw and has a large dent in the ball. Unfortunately, this is common with these daggers. The leather on the hanger is still very nie and not dry rotted. The hardware on it is all nickel. The guards are also in great shape with the lower guard being area marked NrH. The grip is pretty neat because it has a natural dark line that was in the wood running the length of the right side. At first, it looks like it might be a stress crack, but under further examination, it’s a grain anomaly in the wood. A neat feature that sets it apart from every other SA out there in my opinion. The SA roundel is uncleaned but in good condition. This isn’t a perfect dagger, but sone that hasn’t been messed with and is in excellent shape.
