SGML-1369 Cased Iron Cross 1st Class by Otto Schickle Souval Type

Out of stock

Otto Schickle had it’s LDO permissions revoked in 1941, so there is great debate about when and why these L/15 marked Souval frame & cored Otto Schickles were produced. Dietrich Maerz goes into further detail regarding this in his book “The Iron Cross 1. Class”, however, nothing has been proven either way.  The cross is made with genuine pre 1945 parts. The question really is, why the L/15 mark on a genuine Souval cross.  Maybe Schickle was able to bypass regulations by outsourcing production and simply reselling another companies cross? Were original crosses put together after the war and incorrectly stamped with L/15? We may never really know, but this enables the collector to purchase a gorgeous war time produced cross at a slight discount. The case is near mint, and the cross is near mint with only some light oxidation to the core.
