Description

This is a very pretty E. Pack with a gorgeous red brown grip. The eagle, upper/lower guard and the pommel nut? are early nickel. The lower guard is area stamped “B”? for Berlin/Brandenburg areas. E. Pack was one of only a handful of makers who were authorized to make dagger for this area. This tells us that the dagger hasn’t been fooled with and everything matches as it should. The blade is excellent, showing a light edge and 90% of the original cross graining is still present. There are a few very small dings on the edge, but barely noticeable. The E. Pack logo and the SA motto are both deep and look great.? The scabbard is a correct early period style, with all nickel fittings and an anodized shell. There is typical wear to the anodizing and a shallow dent in the middle on one side. The ball tip has a moderate dent, which is pretty common with these daggers.? You will notice the nickel on the scabbard fittings is more dull then the cross guard, likely due to the cross guards being cleaned up. It would be the new owners decision to let the patina even out with time or to polish up the scabbard fittings to match the rest of the dagger.? All in all, this is a nice example that you will be proud to have in your collection.
