These types of flags are always single sided and were made specifically to tie to German vehicles to avoid casualties from friendly. fire, mostly as an aid for the Luftwaffe. They have brass grommets on the corners for tie down to the vehicle. We can see they cut corners on these flags sometimes as this one was made with two piece of red fabric in an un even fashion, which tells me this was the end piece of fabric that wasn’t big enough so they needed to add a little piece to make it the contracted size. frugality was more important than looks during war time after all.
This flag has a few small holes and some light soiling, but displays very well. a nice flag that’s much harder to find then a regular NSDAP banner.
