SMGL-2161 Luftwaffe Gravity Knife by SMF Type 2 *SOLD

This is the more desirable take down version. These have a button on one side that allows for the owner to take the knife apart easily for maintenance and repairs. These knives are nice because we can see inside to take a look at the parts and numbers to make sure everything is as it should be. This one is original in everyway. The spike or unbraider, is numbered R.B.NR 0/0561/0019 which tells us it is made by the SMF firm. The blade, blade case and metal head are all stamped “331” which was an assembly aid to make sure these parts stayed together during the assembly process since they were hand fitted. The thumb lever is numbered 754 and “0”. The 754 was the number used to match to the blade lock spring. It is not known what the “0” designates.
There is some pitting from oxidation on one side of the head. The rest of the knife is in decent shape, with no major damage. Everything functions as it should.
