SMGL-2562 Weatherproofed NSDAP roundel

Roundels are often a separate piece from the banner and are sewn on separately. This one is extra stock that was not even trimmed to a circular pattern yet. What’s unique about it is that it has a light rubberized coating on it. Kind of like oil skin ID books and licenses. Only the coating is thinner. So this must have been used for a banner that was intended to hang outside a building. It’s interesting that we don’t see more of these. However, the coating is so light I would assume with use and age the coating would no longer look and feel different form a normal NSDAP banner. This was brought home with a large stash of authentic items from a member of the 103rd Infantry Division.
