An issued matched pair with some wear and soiling. The gold pip was likely from his initial set for a lieutenant and then received a promotion and given a new set of boards and told to use his old pips and given two new one that were of lower quality gold wash zinc. On the back side, there are only holes for the pips as they are shown.
