Description
A nice “double side crimp” example. Sometimes these are found with the markings filed off. This one has rather weak markings, suggesting the die may have been dirty or maybe at the end of it’s usefulness. Maybe this is the reason some are found with marks filed off? The marks just didn’t look great so they cleaned them up by filing them off completely? I dunno. Back plate has so oxidation visible from the front. In as found condition. V. 1.3 in Tom Durante’s book.
