Awarded for his achievements during his Regiment’s capture of Jefremow. He particularly distinguished himself during the fighting in and around the city on the 20.11.1941. At around 14:30 on this day he and his Bataillon smashed a Soviet battalion that had just detrained in Jefremow. Thereafter they repulsed a Soviet attack against the railway station (one which was supported by tanks and flamethrowers) and took control of the city’s rubber factory.
