Description

A very nice bayonet with a frog that still has the leather snap tabs. These were often cut off. The scabbard has a dent on the back and light surface oxidation, but displays nicely. The lug on the scabbard is lose so it spins freely but is not in danger of popping off at all. The frog is maker stamped “Fritz Balke 1939 Berlin”. The blade on this is pretty good, with much of the factory bluing intact. There are some water spots, wear and a light nicely executed non factory edge put on it. Still an appealing blade. The hilt has a light surface oxidation on it with some impressions near the two waffen amts at the top, likely when it was used as a hammer for something. A nice bayonet overall.
