SMGO-1045 Vet signed Kriegsflagge 100×170 Marine stamped rare maker * On Layaway for Mike T.

6 Signatures: James Havens, Lloyd Knemeyer, John Goodwin, Ed Opferman, John Cabral, Louis Testa. One of the guys drew a can of “lard”..i wonder why…was the guy fat? Was he a cook? lol we may never know.

Maker stamped Kurt Brautigam. Interestingly, this maker also used a different stamp with the alternate spelling as “CURT”. Clearly, two completely different stamps are used if you care to research. I believe this is the earlier version and since it is a small font and clearly didn’t work well, a new stamp was ordered which was larger, more clear and easier to read. At this time, the spelling was also changed. This is just my hypothesis. Both spellings are acceptable although “Kurt” is more traditional in German.

The maker is considered rare to find and this stamp, even harder to find. It is very hard to find Kriegsflags with signatures.  The flag is in remarkable condition with no holes and minor soiling.
