Description
So this is a Z maker marked cross with a nice painted core with no oxidation. The cross was originally literally caked with ugly oxidation on the rim, but looked relatively smooth underneath, so I decided it was a good candidate for a restoration attempt. There are several Jeweler grade chemicals involved and a lot of time. No abrasives are used in the process and the finish you see is the original finish that the cross came with, less the protective lacquer that firms used. The paint is un touched in this process. To some its sacrilege, and I get that. To others, its just like taking your old corvette for a wash. This is not a process that is time or cost efficient, I would have to charge $100 for the time spent. Just a little fun to see what’s under all the rubbish.
