This is likely to be one of the best condition grips you will see, as far as the wood is concerned. It’s a cherry with a grain similar to ash. Very crisp. The grip eagle is the zinc type and we see it is raised a bit form he grip. This tells us, its easier a replacement (which I doubt dude to the condition of the wood), or that these later versions were not put together with the same care as some of their earlier counter parts. Which, may have been just due to the amount of time it takes to properly hand fit these eagles to the grip. Either way, for the price I think it will be suitable for many restoration projects.
