SMGP-1601 japanese good luck/ keepsake bracelet

This interesting item was acquired with a flag and a suicide knife. Can’t tell for sure if or how they are related, but interesting none the less. The words on the bracelet refer to military related cargo or possibly munitions. The translation is tough since there is no context. Possibly, the links were taken off of shipping containers or boxes. They may have been ID tags for supplies since they are individually numbered. Could have been a bored sailor or isolated island infantry man who made the bracelet in his down time. Pretty neat!
