SMGP-221 Utica cutlery co. Pocket knife with HJ Style Ruin *SOLD

This is a really nice vintage folder by Utica Cutlery. It has a seldom seen shield which is identical to an HJ/DJ Third Reich Ruin. There is much debate about these knives as to their intended distribution. It is feasible this pattern shield was made with the Hitler youth in mind, however there is no known photo or document to support this. This shield pattern can be found in a Utica cutlery product catalogue from the correct time period. Utica cutlery is an upstate NY company and there is speculation that the knives were made for the local American HJ camps that were in upstate NY before the groups were outlawed. If nothing more, its a great conversation piece and a rare pattern from Utica. Handle is 3 & 3/8 inches and long blade is 2.5 inches.
