Description

900 21 stamped on the ribbon loop

Constructed of gilded silver with enamels, consisting of a Maltese Cross with white enameled arms, joined through the quadrants by gilded NSDAP-style German national eagles clutching wreathed mobile swastikas on white enameled discs, the obverse overlaid across the three and nine o’clock arms with gilt crossed swords, the twelve o’clock arm topped by a fan suspension with an integral loop and ring retaining a period original ribbon, the suspension ring marked with a silver content number of “900” and a Präsidialkanzlei code of “21” indicating manufacture by Gebrüder Godet, Berlin, measuring 44.84 mm (w) x 51.14 mm (h), weighing 23.2 grams, a superb example demonstrating Godet’s noted jeweler quality in extremely fine condition. No enamel damage. Some soiling to the recessed areas which may clean up with a wooden toothpick if desired. The ribbon shows very light soiling and the brooch pin is partially seperated from the thread on one side. Repairable if desired. From what i understand, if they are marked “5” on the top of the fan it indicates the later issue 5th class. This has no such mark.
