Description
Super rare pin with a super cool letter date March 29 1945 from a soldier in the 328th infantry regiment in the 26th Yankee Division. The pin has a few small chips in the enamel but not noticeable from a foot away. The soldier attached it to the letter with some band aides but you can easily remove it for display on its own if you wish. The letter is torn in a few places so care is needed when handling it. Stenographer pins are very rare and this is the first Ive ever been able to offer for sale.
It reads : “Dear wife baby’s & all, Well (here) I am again to say hello and how are you fine I hope as this leaves me ok for now.” (This solider wasn’t the best speller and didn’t seem to understand punctuation very well.) “Honey I got your letter this morning and was i glad to (hear) from you. Sweetheart I wrote your Uncle Milt (?) the same day I wrote to you. Honey what flag was you talking about I know you haven’t had time to get the one I sent you. Yes dear you told me about old boss and her calf sure am glad to hear they are getting along fine. Honey I am sending you a pin I took off of a officer. Well honey there isnt much to write so i will close for this time. Honey I am still in Germany some where well honey I will close for this time with lots of love Harold.
