Description
Sent back from an admin officer (captain at the time) Charlie Gebhardt from the 9th US army. Fascinating! The note on the envelope reads: ” The Germans evidently had more maps of England than they knew what to do with when the invasion never took place so they made them in to envelopes. This is a part of London. Note the military targets outlined in purple and red.”
The highlighted areas include a tobacco factory, a train marshaling yard, Tramway depot and a reservoir. The Note seems to suggest there were more of these he saw but i have never seen one before this!
