U.S. Army 3rd Army issue photo book ‘Nurnberg’ by Charles W. Alexander (Nurnberg: Karl Ulrich and Co.), 1946, unpaginated 4to., annotated and signed inside the front dust jacket as the personal copy of U.S. Army soldier Staff Sergeant John J. Ulrich Jr. who was stationed in Nuremberg in 1946 and was a guard during the trials. Ulrich also received all 21 signatures in a separate grouping that he brought back.  The cover features a sketch of a skyline above the title ‘Nurnberg.’ The dust jacket has detached from the binding but is still held together by a flyleaf. Scattered stains and edge wear on both sides of the dust jacket. Sold with: a reprinted souvenir booklet for members of the U.S. 3rd Army who fought in Europe, unpaginated 4to., oblong., [n.p.,n.d.], featuring pictures and illustrations of the various places visited by the men, and of typed orders issued by commanders throughout the war. Slightly worn, else fine. A rare opportunity to get a signed book from a guard who was actually at the trials.
