SMGP-137 D.V.G. Westmark M9/312 Badge *SOLD

The D.V.G. Deutscher Volks Genossen Bund (German Fellow-countrymen League) was an organization of ethnic Germans from the Alsace-Lorraine region of France who sought unification with Germany. They copied the NSDAP membership badge but reversed the colors. This one is in great shape but has some factory dimples in the enamel and a slight bit of hazing.

This is an unusual M9 code and is the first I’ve had the pleasure to offer.

“The only NSDAP Membership badge that should be marked with an M9 number, which was specifically used during the RZM period for Tagungsabzeichen. (Day and Event badges) The makers number M9/312 fits in with History as being awarded to Fritz Mannheim very late into the war, as does the material, as does the area in which these M9 marked Party Badges were made, as well as the M9/312 marked DVG-Westmark Badges from the same era and Maker. The reasons for this Party badge (as well as the Late Mannheim marked DVG-Westmark badges) being marked with an M9 number is unknown, and could be due to many reasons, to list any would be pure speculation.” Jo-Rivett
