Description

Wowsers! This dagger is really choice. It has all the bells and whistles and outside of retying the portepee, it hasn’t been messed with or broken down. The scabbard is dent free and has most of the silver plate left on it, which has toned a nice even graphite color. There is minimal spidering to the finish, a real beauty. There is some verdigris on the throat and on the portepee ball. A nice sign of age in my opinion, but it’s up tp the new owner if they would like to remove it. This dagger also comes with a killer set of hangers! The hangers are the deluxe style with the decorative y fitting and lower clips. Most of the silver wash is present and there is no major damage to the soft parts, just some minor wear. On to the blade, we have a ding free blade with all of the original cross graining present. There are some minor oxidation spots but all superficial and no deep pitting. The early puma logo is neat and tidy as we would expect. A really fine blade overall. The early style guard and pommel have aged appropriately to the scabbard and are a perfect match. We end the dagger review with a gorgeous orange solid celluloid grip that is perfect in every way. This is the type of dagger I don’t mind having around the office for a while. So if no one buys it right away, I’m fine with that! It might just make its way into my collection anyway!
