Description

This is the best condition album I’ve come across, from any branch. It was obviously kept in it’s cardboard box for it’s entire life. On top of being mint, It’s FULL. with no missing photos or blank pages. Literally every page is filled up with pictures. Then, the best part is the guy actually has GOOD pictures in here! Everything is in focus and lots of pictures of NCO’s and lots of pictures of them with their RAD EM Hewers. If feel like if you buy this album you MUST  have a RAD Hewer to go with it. There are simply so many good shots of the dagger in wear, including two officers on a motorcycle and the daggers are easily viewable. There are great group shots, leisure shots, work shots and pictures of the men with their spades. There are also fascinating pictures at the Nuremberg rally Grounds (Reichsparteitagsgelande). The event looks to be a RAD only event due to the RAD flags and pop up towers with spades on them. A neat study for sure. The owner of the album is Fritz Werner. He is shown on the second page of pictures, on the left. The first page is a group shot of his commanding officers.  We know this because we also have an Ausweis of his available for sale separately. I don’t know who the guy on the right is. What is also excellent in this album is the back is filled with thoughts from his NCO’s and commanding officers. Some of these guys are likely valuable signatures on their own. I have not had the time to research them but if you know any of them, shoot me an email.

Also included in this lot of course is the beer stein. The beer stein is named to Werner and is dated 1936. Interestingly, you can tell the steins were made up in mass and then “finished” at the time of order or purchase by adding the rest of the date and any other personalization. In this case, the location of the camp (Sulzbach Rosenberg) and his name. Also of interest is the RAD cap badge that was affixed to the stein. I’m not 100% that the maker of the stein did this because the badge appears to bell worn and soiled. So I’m wondering if Werner did this using an old badge he had laying around.

A fantastic set that would be a highlight of any RAD collection.
