SMGM-0205 Hitler Youth Knife 1941 by Eduard Wüsthof

This is an absolute killer very late 1941 Wusthof  example. The blade is striking and rare to see in such good condition. In this period, it is interesting to note that Wusthof created a new RZM die as the original was becoming badly flawed and they went back to a steel hilt. The result is their latest example but being better looking and more durable than the late mid period examples! As you can see with this one, the plated hilt looks fantastic and just has a few oxidation spots on it and no major wear. The grip plates are perfect as well as the enamel diamond. The diamond has a tiny bit of wiggle and no wear to the silver plate on the boarders. The dark color can be seen as the result of the original silver oxidizing to a black color. The leather snap is perfect as is the rest of the leather. The scabbard has a small ding near the tip and what i would call an average amount of wear. This is a single runner scabbard, so the knife sits a bit loose it. Better for the blade condition in the long run. A top example from this maker.
