Description
This is a fantastic example with a killer blade and scabbard. The scabbard is dent free and only has one significant area of corrosion that is under the lower hanger loop. the blade shows evidence of some very light cleaning but most of he original cross grain is present. The guard is minty. The pommel is fantastic from the front and back, but there is visible finish loss at the top from some light sanding that was done to level off some light damage from someone using the incorrect tools to take the nut off. This is a common problem on these unfortunately. Due to this, I took the dagger down completely to inspect for further damage. Upon inspection, the “lip” that is at the top of the grip, that seats the pommel nut was damaged, and some material was missing, and some material was glued back in place. This is all largely cosmetic and only from the inside. There is no “major” damage. This damage is the result of someone twisting the pommel trying to loosen it and remove it without the proper tools. If you can get over this hidden issue, the dagger is really an impressive piece.
