SMGO-0250 National Rifle Association Cutlass by Alcoso

This cutlass is in great shape overall. The handle has the typical cracks we see on these. These cracks are the result of the very thin celluloid (over wood) shrinking over time and humidity fluctuations. 95% of these daggers have these cracks. The cracks on this one are not too bad though and they are in a less conspicuous place, being low to the ferrule. The cross guard and other fittings are a nonferrous plated metal with light wear and finish loss. The center enamel roundel is in great shape, having just light wear and imperfections. The blades on these are rather rough, at least from this maker. There are  factory grind marks that are easy to see. The etching is very nice with light wear and some light oxidation spots. The leather scabbard is fantastic with no dents or kinks. The upper and lower fittings show light wear and are well matched to the hilt.

A nice opportunity to pick up a hard to find dagger.
