Description
Neat Wehrpass of a soldier who fought in the first great war, which includes a postcard that he wrote his lady in 1915. Also included are two “Wehrpass Notice” which seems to be a generic form sent through or by his employer, in this case the head Reichsbahn Office in Essen. Signed by a captain on the 1937 form and unsigned on the 1939 form. Basically, it says be ready to be called up and don’t lose the form and keep it with your Wehrpass. Interestingly, this is the first time I’ve seen this form as most of them must have been lost of discarded at some point. Also included is some sort of pass hand written by a company commander giving him access or usage of the railway and dated 1917. I’m not sure if this has anything to do with his later profession as a locomotive operator. Neat item regardless. So if you are a Reichsbahn collector this is a great item for you.
